American Medical Education & Research Association
AMERA is an organized Arizona non-profit association, wholly supported by its members and sponsors. AMERA operates as a peer-recognized organization with members and officers from throughout the United States. Its headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona.
AMERA is comprised of representatives from throughout the field of medical education and research. Each individual member and individual member establishment is encouraged to participate in the operation and growth of AMERA.
AMERA is primarily focused on the following three strategic paths:
- Providing leading industry standards for the industry and industry partners to ensure that all aspects of bio skill training, tissue donation, usage and disposition are controlled and dignified through the entire donation life cycle.
- Grass-roots efforts to educate, protect and give back to donors, their families and the community at large. AMERA standards require that all accredited banks have formal and active programs that support and give back to the community they serve.
- Support legislative lobbying efforts that promote responsible legislation that offers consumer protection, freedom of choice and industry controls to demonstrate transparency and accountability, regardless of the State in which the bank operates or the donor resides.
