The RAW Bean bag Huge Tray was made thanks to some prodding by one of our artist friends. We were all rolling up at his place in L.A. when he showed us how he rolls: Rolling up while simultaneously playing GTA. He said he needed a tray that would form to his lap and he suggested using a bean bag.
Back in Phoenix, Ian and I ordered a bunch of classic, retro, and modern bean bag trays. While dissecting them, we noticed most of them were filled with plastic beads, fiber fill, or Styrofoam. YUCK!!! So we decided to use natural buckwheat hulls.
Why buckwheat hulls?
Buckwheat hull pillows have been used for centuries in Japan and other Asian countries. The hulls of Buckwheat make the perfect material for pillows as they are a natural material that doesn't reflect or retain heat. They are hypo-allergenic, non-toxic and resist pests, like bed bugs. Buckwheat hulls are also used to fill Zafus, the round pillows that Zen Buddhists sit upon during meditation.
We used the RAW XXL tray to give you plenty of room for rolling and made sure the beanbag was detachable, for easy cleaning. Many prototypes were made and lots of testing completed. Eventually we perfected it. Voila! The RAW Beanbag Lap Tray was born.
We are even tossing in a Rolling Paper Depot XL Doobtube. Air tight, odor-free, and water resistant. These tubes are made of plastic and have a rubber top that seal in odor and prevents lint, water, or anything else you have in your pockets from getting in. They're perfect for traveling. You will receive 1 tube. Color may vary.
